What is Café Europa?

Café Europa is a weekly newsletter dedicated to European theatre. You can expect a mix of in-depth reviews and profiles of the artists and companies that excite me, plus festival coverage and other relevant material.

Who am I?

Hi, I’m Natasha Tripney, I’m a writer, critic and the International Editor at The Stage, the newspaper of the UK theatre industry. Before that I was The Stage’s reviews editor and joint lead critic. In 2011, I co-founded the online theatre magazine, Exeunt, as a home for experimental and independent criticism. I currently edit SEEstage.org, a platform for theatre criticism in South East Europe. I have written for the Guardian, BBC Culture, New York Times, Evening Standard and many other places. I have a longstanding fascination with European theatre, particularly the theatre of South East Europe, but I am omnivorous in my tastes.
